harles Robert "Robin" Merriwether, Jr. son of the late Charles Robert (Mary)Merriwether, Sr. and Bonnie E.(Bennie) Brown born January 5,1945 in New Kensington, Pa., died peacefully at his home in Temple Hills, Md. He is survived by his wife of 54 years ,Alma and two sons, Hollis and Christiaan(Yolanda). A devoted grandfather, "Poppi" will be sorely missed by his two grandchildren, Hunter and Demi. His loss is deeply felt by his three brothers, William(Lois), Keith(Vicky) and Kenneth(Sharon) and two sisters, Autumn and Wanda. Robin was highly respected and loved by his Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, close friends and associates. Upon graduation from High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving honorably at several Naval Stations including Guantanamo Bay ,Cuba during the Cuban crisis. Upon completing his service, he relocated to Washington, D.C., married and attended the University of the District of Columbia, earning degrees in Architecture Science and Construction Management. His career as a Construction Manager and Project Supervisor for the private sector and federal and military agencies spanned over 30 years. He loved music, especially gospel music, and prior to his illness, was an active participant and member of Men's Choir of the historic Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, Va. Funeral Services and interment are private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the Alfred Street Baptist Church Scholarship Foundation.
