Charles Don Sadler, Sr. - Obituary

harles Don Sadler, Sr. passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026 after a battle with cerebrovascular accidents. Don was born on January 1, 1940 in Edwight, West Virginia to the late Charles Clinton Sadler and Faye Danise Sadler. During high school, “Big Don” excelled at baseball, basketball, and football. He attended college at West Virginia Tech on a basketball scholarship, where he met Sandra Kessler. They married in 1958. He attained his bachelor’s degree from Bluefield State University in West Virginia. Don and Sandy moved to Maryland in 1965, where they both enjoyed successful sales careers with Sarah Coventry Jewelry. In 1984, he changed careers and started Mr. Fix It Home Improvement, where he worked in the Annapolis area until he retired in 2017. Don was a 53-year member of the Annapolis Elks Lodge #622. He loved playing cards and was an accomplished golfer. He was club champion at Annapolis Roads G.C. in 1971. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Sandy, in 2019. He is survived by his brother, John (Catherine) Sadler; his son, Don (Carrie) Sadler, Jr.; his grandsons, Clint (Cara) and Dan (Stephanie) Sadler and his great-grandchildren, Madeline and Jonathan Sadler. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Don’s life on Friday, June 19 from 1 to 2 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, followed by his memorial service at 2 pm.
