harlotte Williams Sudhoff
Charlotte Williams Sudhoff, "Cha-Cha", 86, a 47 year
resident of Annapolis, died peacefully on July 22nd 2013,
surrounded by family.
Born and raised in Troy Alabama she moved and grew
up in Montgomery, Alabama. Charlotte had many
interests during those days including dance lessons and
Girl Scouts . During WW II, her girl scout troop
transitioned to Wing Scouts which rolled bandages and
spotted aircraft activity.
After graduating from Sidney Lanier High School in
1945, Charlotte continued her education at Auburn
University and earned her Bachelor of Science in 1950.
While at Auburn she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi
sorority and taught at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio
where she met her future husband , Richard "SUDS"
Sudhoff.
During their 62 years of marriage, while raising their 4
children, Charlotte was involved in many social and
volunteer activities; including boy and girl scout
leadership, the Marine Corps Wives Club, and as a
longtime member of the Winchester Ladies Bridge Club.
She was a multu£-decade volunteer with Meals-On-
Wheels.
Charlotte loved dance and in later life expressed
herself in art; working in oils and loved flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Lieutenant Colonel
Richard I. Sudhoff, USMC (ret.); her 4 children, Sharon
Calcaterra of Severna Park, MD, Richard K. Sudhoff of
Paengseoung, South Korea, Robert M. Sudhoff of Mount
Vernon, VA, and Julia Pergolizzi of Fairfax, VA. Also
surviving her are 14 grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Charlotte's Life Celebration on Monday, July 29 from 10AM to 11AM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, where a memorial service will begin at 11AM. Inurnment is private. An online guestbook is available at www.kalasfuneralhomes.com.
