ife Reflections Cheryl Janet George departed this life and entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 2:30AM. She was born to Albertha Clark on November 21, 1960, in Bronx, NY. She was the second born of four children. Cheryl attended Public Schools in the Bronx, NY, where she graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School, Bronx, NY in 1978. Soon after graduation, she attended college at Hampton University, Hampton, VA. During this time, she met the love of her life, Reiz George Sr. Soon after, Cheryl and Reiz returned to New York where Cheryl completed her studies at Bronx Community College. Obtaining her bachelor’s degrees in Nursing. Later, the couple entered into marital bliss on January 16, 1987, and had been married for nearly 42 years at the time of her passing. To their union, a son, Reiz Jr. and a daughter, Loreiza Janet were born. Cheryl began her career as a Registered Nurse over 40 years ago. Working at Lincoln Hospital in New York. In 1987, she relocated to Riverdale, Maryland with her family. After her move to Maryland, Cheryl pursued and completed a master’s degree in Nursing at the University of Maryland. Over the years, she has worked at Prince George’s Hospital Center, Washington Hospital Center, Southern Maryland Hospital, Providence Hospital, and finally as a Civil Servant with the Veterans Administration Hospital. She had a very strong work ethic, as she continued her service as a nurse until the very end. Cheryl loved reading, knitting, writing, and spending time with family. Often supporting and traveling with her husband and the Freemasonry. But most of all she loved the Lord. She truly enjoyed listening to Gospel music and to the preached Word. Cheryl and her family were dedicated members of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Lanham, MD since the late 1990s. However, she later joined Mt. Ennon Baptist Church in February 2007, where she was a faithful member until the time of her passing. Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Albertha Clark and also her brother, Wilson Joseph Clark. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Reiz George Sr.; two children: Reiz George Jr. (Yolande) and Loreiza J. George; six grandchildren: Reiz George III, Kyreiz D. George, Reyani Rudolph, Rodney Rudolph, Tiarra M. George, Ivyanna I. Hudson; a great granddaughter, Aziera George; her sister, Celestine Clark; and brother, Wayne Jenkins; sister in law: Patrina George; three brothers-in-law: Thomas Salmond, Thyrane George and Devon George (Betty) a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Cheryl's Life Celebration on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Mount Ennon Baptist Church, 9832 Piscataway Road, Clinton, MD 20735. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, MD 20735.
