laire L. Deeter Jr., 84, a lifetime resident of Annapolis, died of natural causes June 23 at his residence. He was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Crownsville. Claire served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Test Mechanic with the U.S. Navy for most of his life. He was a member of the Annapolis Elks and Annapolis Moose. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid reader and was very devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Frances H. Deeter, whom he married April 14, 1944; one son, Doug Deeter of Camden, Del.; two daughters, Lee Clow of Edgewater and Rocky Cummings of Mayo; one brother, Stephen Deeter of Pa.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until his funeral service begins at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 26 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Interment will be in St. Mary's Church Cemetery in Annapolis.
