Clara DeMarzo - Obituary

lara T. DeMarzo “Nana”, 88, a 15-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Arnold, died October 11 at Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center from complications due to a stroke. She was born August 24, 1922 in New York City. Clara worked for Suburban Trust Bank as a bookkeeper, C&P Telephone Co. as an account representative, and Long and Foster as a real estate agent. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and The Sons of Italy. Clara was very active in the Heritage Harbour community, was a member of the bridge club, and enjoyed yoga, tai chi and other community activities. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Clara was the wife of the late Peter Joseph DeMarzo whom she married in 1944 and who died on May 28, 2010. She is survived by one son, Robert (Carol) DeMarzo of Sykesville and one daughter, Mary (Warren) Funk of Crofton. Also survived by three grandchildren, Christopher Green of Wye Mills, Peter J. DeMarzo of Ellicott City and Carrie Lhotsky of Cordova, and three great-grandchildren, Peter and Anna Green of Wye Mills and Dakota Lhotsky of Cordova. Friends are invited to Clara’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037 on Thursday, October 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Crofton, MD.
