lara Helena Segreti, 98, of Annapolis, MD and formerly of College Park, MD, died on Sunday, December 16 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. Born on January 24, 1920 in Washington, DC to the late Emilio and Dina Perruso, Clara graduated from McKinley High School in 1938. She worked for 30 years with the United Mine Workers of America (U.M.W.A.) until retiring in 1982. Clara was a member of the Order of the Sons and Daughters of Italy (O.S.D.I.A.), the Annapolis American Legion Auxiliary, the Annapolis Moose Auxiliary, the Peppers of Londontown and the Heritage Harbour Women's Club. She enjoyed bridge, bingo, ceramics, knitting and crocheting, crafts, card playing and cooking. Clara was preceded in death by her husband Salvatore Segreti who died on May 11, 1997. They were married on April 7, 1940. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Segreti of Annapolis, MD, Robert Segreti of Silver Spring, MD and Joseph Segreti of Baltimore, MD and her granddaughter, Alexandra Segreti of New York City. Friends are invited to celebrate Clara's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, December 26 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM where her funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 27 at 11 AM.
