lare Hiller Drake, 95, of Severna Park, MD and previously Melbourne, FL, passed away on October 11, 2015 in Columbia, MD. Born on August 26, 1920 in Mitchellville, MD to the late Walter and Emma Entzian, she graduated from Upper Marlboro High School and the Stanfield and Wood Secretarial School. Clare was a true servant and true woman of faith, devoting herself to her family and tirelessly volunteering her time and talents to many churches, hospices and hospitals. She also enjoyed traveling, entertaining, cooking and baking. Clare was preceded in death by her husbands, Fredrick J. Hiller, whom she married in 1942 and who died in 1989, and Robert S. Drake, whom she married in 1995 and who died in 2003; one son, Alan Hiller; brother, Herman Entzian and two sisters, Lydia O’Bannon and Alice Glascock. She is survived by three sons, John Hiller of Port Isabel, TX, David Hiller and his wife, Anita of The Colony, TX and Stephen Hiller and his wife, Susan of Severna Park, MD, one daughter, Jeanie Lawrence and her husband, Richard of The Colony, TX; brother, Ernest Entzian of Port Tobacco, MD; sister, Elsie Cullins of Pasadena, MD; one daughter-in-law, Jean Hiller; three grandsons, Michael, Eric and James Hiller; eight granddaughters, Kimberly Ramirez, Heather Hahn, Kristin Miller, Lisa Dixon, Laurie Smariek, Nicole Boyd, Stacey Sanchez and Jodi Lawrence; 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Clare’s life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 16 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD where Clare’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 17. Burial at Arlington National Cemetery is scheduled for Tuesday December 8, 2015 at 11 AM. If you wish to attend the burial you will need to be at the administration building on the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery no later than 10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Severna Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 110 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122 or to a charity of your choice.
