laud “Buddy” Edward Young, Jr., 82, a 10 year resident of Churchton, MD and previously of Fort Washington, MD passed away at his home on June 7, 2008 of Renal Failure after a long illness. Born June 29, 1925 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania (Lawrence County), to the late Marcella Cecilia and Claud Edward Young, Sr., he was a high school graduate and retired from the Local 10 IUEC (International Union of Elevator Constructors) in 1987. He was an instructor for the National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP) and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in West River, MD. His hobbies include boating, fishing, classic movies and music. He is predeceased by his wife Margaret Juanita (Hayes) Young who passed away November 28, 2004 and he married on October 18, 1947, his siblings, Daniel Peter Young, Matthew Patrick Young, Paul Joseph Young, Sr., Mary Margaret O'Brien, Anne Marie Mazzullo, Alice Katherine Frye and Regina Young. Survivors include his children, Stephen Edward Young of Millersville, MD, Kevin Michael Young of Zelienople, PA, Donald Joseph Young of Waldorf, MD, Brian Young of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kenneth Hayes Young of La Plata, MD, Gerald Allen Young of Elkridge, MD, Claudia Ann Mullins of Blacksburg, VA, Donna Marie Dannessa of Severna Park, MD, Mary Gail Sewell of Brandywine, MD and Margaret Alicia Reese of Churchton, MD. He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Downing of Upper Marlboro, MD and Patricia Williams and 23 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Claud's Life Celebration on Tuesday, June 10 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, June 11 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 101 Owensville Road, West River, MD. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
