Claudia L. Carnell - Obituary

laudia “Cie” Carnell, “Mawmaw”, passed away peacefully, at her home, on April 4, 2023 after a lengthy illness. Born on August 29, 1949 to the late Robin Hastings, Sr. and Dorothy Foster, Claudia was a longtime resident of Edgewater, MD who later moved to Lothian. She enjoyed her dog, Missy and loved shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George “Jim” Carnell; her sister, Olivia Zgan and her brother, Robin Hastings, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha (Joe) Carter; her sister, Terri Anne Weddell; her grandchildren, Breanna (Bryan) Dempsey, Tyler and Dylan Hilgenberg and her great-grandchildren, Baylee, Aubrey, Ava, and Brayden Dempsey. She was loved by many other relatives and friends and will be missed dearly. There will be a Celebration of Life for Claudia on Tuesday, April 18 at 5 pm at the Freestate Baptist Church, 1623 Forest Drive Annapolis, MD 21401. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in her name, to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122. Condolences may be made by using the Memories tab on this page.
