Claudiette Horne - Obituary

laudiette Horne, daughter of the late Willie and Charlie Bulluck, was born in Rocky Mount, NC on November 15, 1936. She departed this life on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Education Claudiette graduated from Booker T. Washington Senior High School, received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1958 from North Carolina College at Durham and was proud to be a part of the Alpha Kappa Sorority. In 1973 she received her Masters Degree from Worcester State College. Claudiette married Norman Horne on December 25, 1958. By the time she retired, she had taught junior high, high school and college. She was the proud mother of three children: Michelle Lynette of Alexandria, VA; Norma Jean of Falls Church, VA; and, Reginald Keith of Indianapolis, IN. She is survived by her five grandchildren: Jonathan Robert, Quinton Alexander, Kayla Nicole, Jarred Keith, and Austin Michael. Through her ministry, piano playing and singing, her love of God was apparent to all who knew her. Claudiette was an Associate Pastor at Mount Zion First Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina where she also ministered to the sick and shut in. Affiliations, Hobbies, etc. Claudiette enjoyed travelling, scrabble, and she loved to crochet and could put you to shame in a mean game of pinochle. Family members who are left to cherish her memory include her daughters – Michelle and Norma; her son – Reginald and his wife Gretchen; and five grandchildren; two sisters – Cora Allen of Rocky Mount, NC and Annie Elder and husband Ron of Livonia Michigan. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews cousins as well as other relatives and friends. Family and friends are invited to Claudiette's Life Celebration on Sunday, July 17 from 3 to 5pm at GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd. Oxon Hill, MD. Inurnment in Rock Mount, N.C. at Gardens of Gethsemane on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 9am.
