Corazon A. Arpon - Obituary

orazon “Azon” Alcantara Arpon, 81, a resident of Annapolis passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in Annapolis, MD. Azon was born on April 5, 1943, in Rosario, Cavite in the Philippines to the late Andres and Emilia Alcantara. She retired as a 4th-grade teacher in the Philippines. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and enjoyed watching game and cooking shows, sewing and crocheting, gardening, playing bingo, and going to the casino. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Azon was preceded in death by her husband of 13 years Tiburcio Arpon. She is survived by her children, Chona (Mikol) Hawkins of Oxon Hill, Aprillyn (Juan) Salgado of Annapolis, and Roy (Vickie) of Baltimore. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Anais, Isis, Malay, RJ, and Allen. Her siblings, Engelberto Leyva Alcantara and Lumen Alcantara Barron, both of Cavite, Philippines, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Corazon’s life on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater MD 21037. Viewing starts at 10 a.m., service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton MD 20735.
