C

orrie Thelma Paddy, 75, a resident of Harwood for 19 years and a former resident of Edgewater for many years, died Aug. 5 at home after a brief illness. Known as "Thelma," Mrs. Paddy was born June 17, 1932, in Henderson, N.C., and worked for Annapolis Tree Experts as an office manager. Her interests included gardening and being with her grandchildren. She was active in Girl Scouts and majorettes. On Aug. 16, 1963, she married Clarence C. Paddy, who died April 7, 2004. She was the sister of the late Glover and Harvey Cantrell and Eula Mull. Surviving are four daughters, Judy Eastman of Queenstown, Joan Brady of Lothian and Janice Blackwell and Joyce Gomes, both of Shady Side; three step-daughters, Linda Ford of Mayo, Ginger Brooks of Edgewater and Betty Jane Hayden of Denton; one stepson, Michael Paddy of Edgewater; two brothers, Henry Cantrell of Zirconia, N.C., and Johnnie Cantrell of Ingleside in Queen Anne's County; four sisters, Clara McSilvers of Springfield, Ore., Mary Steadman of Zirconia, Wilma Trippe of Easton and Dolly Fowler of Lakeland, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater, where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday.
