ostas D. Chrissos, 89, of Heritage Harbour died March 8, 2010. He was born August 17, 1920 in New York City, of immigrant parents from the island of Kos in Greece. Mr. Chrissos was raised and educated in New York City. He was a court reporter with the Army during World War II, and was stationed in Paris and worked under the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces. After the war, Costas met and married Louise Arcamuzi, also of New York. They were married on November 30, 1947, in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City. Costas and Louise lived their entire married life in Washington DC and Maryland and moved to Heritage Harbour in 1980. Mr. Chrissos worked as a court report and staff assistant for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, retiring after 25 years of service. Then he worked an additional 15 years in the Washington, DC office of Standard Oil of Indiana. He loved dancing and was an expert dancer. He also enjoyed carving ducks and playing poker. He participated in the many diverse activities at Heritage Harbour, and was an active member of Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Louise Chrissos, and his children Jeanne (Philip) Rosenbaum of Warrenton, VA and Demos (Karen) Chrissos of Gaithersburg, MD, and eight grandchildren. Family and friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be offered at Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD on Saturday, March 13. The church will open at 1:30 p.m. for a brief viewing and the funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Maryland Veteran's Cemetery in Crownsville on Tuesday, March 16, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494 or Ss.
