raig Alan Gottschall, 36, a 10-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Odenton, MD, died on March 28 at his home following a 4-year battle with cancer. Born on January 9, 1974 at the Malcolm Grow Medical Center at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, MD, he was the son of Nancy Gottschall of Edgewater and the late Bart Gottschall. Craig graduated from Arundel High School in 1992 and made his career as a commercial electrician. He was a Redskins fan who also enjoyed fishing, 4-wheeling and traveling. In addition to his mother, Craig is survived by one brother, Troy Gottschall of Edgewater, MD; one sister, Amanda Seydler of Arnold, MD; his aunt and uncle, Catherine and Brad Gottschall of Bryantown, MD and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to Craig's Life Celebration on Tuesday, March 30, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 31, at 11 a.m. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Route 3 North, Building A, Gambrills, MD 21054 or the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
