D Connor - Obituary

. David Connor, 69, a 10 year resident of Davidsonville, MD and previously of Mt. Airy, MD died November 15, 2008 at his home of cancer after a 7 year illness. Born December 3, 1938 in Bowling Green, OH, to the late Madalyn Blake and Howard Connor, he graduated from high school in Baltimore, OH and later graduated from Indiana Technical College in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1962, leaving the Navy with a rank of RD2. He was employed at IBM in the early 1960's, and then worked for CSC (Computer Sciences Corp.) for 42 years, 4 years of which were spent in Vietnam. Mr. Connor's was a member of the Long Beach MG club for 42 years. His was active in open wheel racing, both as a driver, sponsor, drive instructor and race official for Championship Auto Racing Teams. He was also an avid reader and was a good family man, husband, father and friend. He was the beloved husband of Diana Connor of Davidsonville, MD; father of Michael J. Connor of Parker, CO and Stacy Connor of Davidsonville, MD; brother of Dennis Connor of Poway, CA; grandfather of Dax Connor; he is also survived by two aunts and one uncle in Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews in CA and MA. Friends are invited to Mr. Connor's Life Celebration on Thursday, November 20 from 6:30pm until time of service at 7:30pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
