Dana Frame - Obituary

ana Frame, a 5-month resident of the Southern Eastern Shore of Maryland, died at his home on Friday, June 23, 2017, of heart failure following a 10-year illness. He was 92. Born June 15, 1925, in Sutton, WV to the late Herbert and Carrie Frame, he served his country as a Sgt. in the Army in the Philippines during WWII and participated in the major battles of Zig Zag Pass, Leyte Gulf, New Guinea, South Philippines, and Luzon. Dana worked as a custom home builder in Anne Arundel, Howard and Baltimore Counties; building dozens of beautiful homes. He created and maintained his website (danaframe.com) chronicling his life, experiences from WWII and his testimony detailing his love of Christ, wife, and children. The website is still active today, and you are encouraged to read his story about Zig Zag Pass. Dana was active in several churches as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Following his retirement, he helped his children at their homes by building and fixing anything and everything. Simply put, He loved to build. Dana is survived by his wife, Lillian L. Frame, whom he married on February 8, 1947; three children, Daniel E. Frame of Westover, MD, Anita L. Beck of Davidsonville, MD and Steven A. Frame of Pensacola, FL; two sisters, Reva Fluharty of West Milford, WV and Margorie Ritchie of Clarksburg, WV; five grandchildren, Christopher D., Timothy B., Jeffrey A. and Scott R. Frame and Laura A. Valade; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two step-grandchildren, Adam E. Beck and Hailey A. Marchyshyn, and three step-great-grandchildren. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, June 28 from 6 to 8 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 29 at 11 a.m. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
