aniel Joseph Brumsted, 58, a resident of Dunkirk, MD for twenty-four years and formerly of Columbia, MD, died on Sunday, May 19 after a seventeen month battle with pancreatic cancer at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 31, 1960, in Libertyville, IL to Rachael DeVita Brumsted and the late Donald Brumsted, Dan and his family moved to Columbia, MD when he was six years old. He recently retired after selling the company he owned for more than 30 years, Environmental Testing Lab, Inc. Whether on his boat or on a chartered trip, Dan loved to fish and spend time on the water. He also enjoyed cheering on the Baltimore Orioles and spending time with his family and friends. Dan's love and kindness touched many hearts throughout his life and to those lucky enough to have known him, he will be sorely missed. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carol A. Brumsted; his children, Genavieve and Mitchel and his siblings, James and Margaret. Friends are invited to Daniel's life celebration at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Sunday, June 9 at 1 pm.
