Daniel Gerety - Obituary

aniel "Danny" Joseph Gerety, a resident of Ft. Lauderdale, FL died on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. He was 31. Born on February 26, 1984, Danny lived in Annapolis from birth until moving to Florida at age 20. He studied Hospitality and Culinary Arts through Anne Arundel Community College. After years of hard work, Danny achieved the Executive Chef position at Marriott Resort and Spa in Pompano Beach, FL. He has received numerous culinary achievements and is well respected by his co-workers, not only for his strong work ethic and culinary creativity but for his dedication and passion. His smile was infectious and his heart was as big as his 6’4”frame. To know Danny was to love Danny. Go Ravens! Danny is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; E. Richard and Aliceann Gerety. He is survived by his grandparents, Philip and Suzanne Metzler of Lancaster, PA; his mother, Margie Kosmerl and her husband, Wayne; his father, James Gerety and his wife, Marquetta; four sisters, Jennifer Gerety of Odenton, MD, Sarah and Elizabeth Kosmerl, both of Annapolis, MD and Tonya Jones and her husband, Richard, their children, Alexis, Conner and Chloe of Edgewater, MD; his girlfriend; Jaci Pehrson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to count. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Bay Area Community Church, 884 Chesterfield Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Tuesday, January 5th at 11:00am. The Celebration of Danny’s Life reception will follow after the service at the Knights of Phythias, 10 Phythian Drive, Edgewater, MD 21037. Internment Private.
