aniel Edward Gilmore "Danny", 61, a thirty-two year resident of Beverly Beach, MD passed away at his residence on Monday, February 22, 2016. Born on June 27, 1954 in Cheverly, MD to the late James and Glenna Gilmore, Danny graduated from Maryland Park Junior High School and attended Crossland High School in Temple Hills, MD. For most of his life, Danny was a professional truck driver and fleet manager with an outstanding work ethic. During his time in the transportation industry, he worked for Brandywine Sand and Gravel, Parsons Paper Co. and most recently, Cardinal Logistics Trucking. Danny also owned and operated a part-time business, Pro Tek Fleet Washing Services. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved spending time with his two daughters, family and friends. He was known for his big heart and his ability to make people laugh, he was loved by all. Danny is survived by his two daughters, Samantha (Chris) Walker of Beverly Beach and Jennifer Gilmore of Harwood; two brothers, Jeffery (Colleen) Gilmore of Crownsville and James (Alice) Gilmore of Edgewater and one sister, Deborah Naylor of Raeford, NC. Friends are invited to celebrate Danny's life from 1 pm until his memorial service begins at 2 pm on Saturday, February 27 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
