aniel Lundquist, 87, a native of Jamestown, NY passed away on March 25, 2012 in Annapolis, MD.
Born in Jamestown on June 11, 1924 to Samuel and Esther Carlson Lundquist, Dan was a 1942 graduate of Jamestown High School, where he was class valedictorian and was active in school plays. He graduated from Union College, obtaining a degree in electrical engineering in three years as part of the Navy’s V-12 program.
Mr. Lundquist married the former Barbara Lindbeck on July 12, 1947. He had a 39-year career with Marlin Rockwell Company (later TRW) in sales and engineering positions, including National Marketing Director. In Jamestown, Dan was an active member of the First Congregational Church and served on the Board of Directors of Dahlstrom Manufacturing Company. Dan also was a member of the Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club, Moon Brook Country Club, the Mt. Moriah Lodge, and the Norden Club.
Following his retirement from TRW, Dan and Barbara moved to Florida, where they enjoyed a decade of retirement together, including celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren. Following Barbara’s death in 1999, Dan moved to Annapolis, where he became a resident of the Ginger Cove Retirement Community. There, he met and married the former Jeanne Boertzel. The couple was very active in community clubs and activities, and traveled extensively.
Mr. Lundquist is survived by his wife Jeanne; a son, Tom Lundquist of Arlington, VA; a daughter, Mary Lundquist Bevan of New Fairfield, CT; and four grandchildren, Joanna Lundquist Kaylor, Allison Lundquist, Keith Bevan, and Kristopher Bevan.
A memorial service will be held at Ginger Cove on Wednesday, April 4 at 1:30pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ginger Cove Foundation, 4000 River Crescent Drive, Annapolis, MD 21401.
