ANIEL E. VOLM In the company of his loving family, departed this life at morning''s first light on October 2, 2010. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Maria; his daughters, Nina, Sharon,Pamela and Elfie; their husbands, Barney, Bib, Barrett and Larry; grandchildren, Lisa, Jonathan, Megan, and Kristopher; his great-grandson, Hunter; as well as the countless friends he touched over his 91 years. Born in the farm town of Antigo, Wisconsin in 1919, Daniel traveled the world during his professional career in the US Army as an intelligence Officer in the Second World War and as one of the first Army Officers inducted into the Office of Special Services and later the Central Intelligence Agency. He served his country honorably for over twenty years traveling throughout South and Latin America. He established and managed corporations in Wisconsin before relocating to Florida where he began a highly successful career as a building engineer and manager for some of the largest condominiums in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Throughout his years in Florida he was active in his church servicing multiple charitable organizations benefiting those less fortunate. Daniel was a man of faith, family and friends and those that called him Friend did so with admiration, respect and love. In lieu of flowers, he would have preferred donations to those that help others in need. The family will hold two viewings at the Kalas Funeral Home at 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037, 410.956.4488, on Monday October 11 at 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A chapel service at the same facility will take place on Tuesday. October 12 at 11 a.m., followed immediately by interment in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Crownsville, MD.
