David Bikle - Obituary

avid P. Bikle, age 69, of Annapolis, MD died on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Mandrin Hospice House in Harwood, MD. David, who grew up in Hershey, PA was the son of the late Dorothy Wolf Bikle and Charles Leroy Bikle, who both taught at and were honored by The Milton Hershey School. After graduating from Hershey High School, David attended Penn State University and earned degrees from Union College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Rutgers University. He had retired after a long career in public relations management for Bell Laboratories, AT&T and Lucent Technologies. David lived with great energy and zest. He enjoyed music, golf, reading, travel, the Yankees and his friendships. David was the beloved husband of Matilda “Tillie” Young; devoted father of Charles Bikle of NJ; loving brother of Bill Bikle, Ann Reilly and Susan Dinges, all of PA; dear stepfather of Debbie Young-Arnold and her husband Dan Arnold of GA and Melissa Young and her husband, Jerry DeMarchi of MD. Above all else he adored his grandchildren, Emily and Lila Arnold of GA and Natalie and Benjamin DeMarchi of MD. He is also survived by his cherished nieces and a nephew. A service of remembrance will be held at a later date.
