David Borst - Obituary

n Tuesday, February 26, David Allen Borst, 56, of Churchton, died at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born March 28, 1956 in Hartford, CT, David retired from the US Navy in 1995 as an aircraft mechanic. In his spare time he enjoyed bass fishing, collecting Star Trek memorabilia, playing mahjongg and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Helen Borst; three children, Deborah (Steven) Gallagher of Churchton, Amy (James) White of Churchton and Andrew Borst of Churchton; one brother, Bruce Borst of Plattsburgh, NY; one sister, Gail Dougela of Enfield, CT; two grandchildren, Brian and Joseph Gallagher; his mother, Dorothy Borst of Enfield, CT. Friends are invited to David’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater on Monday, March 4 from 10am-12pm where a funeral ceremony will begin at 12pm. Interment will follow in MD Veterans Cemetery-Crownsville. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
