avid Rudolph Byington, 71, a one-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Rockville, MD and Bay Area, CA, died of cancer on April 1, 2010 at his home. Born October 6, 1938 in Oklahoma, he graduated from the California State University, Hayward Campus, with a Masters Degree in Health Administration. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he worked as a program analyst with the U.S. Indian Health Services in Rockville, MD until his retirement. David enjoyed attending pow wows, reading, exercising, going on walks and taking in nature, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by Janice Gordon, his companion of over 20 years; one son, David Byington, Jr. of Pine Ridge, SD; three daughters: Diane Grimm of Rushville, NE, Dawn Felter of Hay Springs, NE and Denise Lundberg of Riva, MD; one brother, Dean Hester of Tishamingo, OK and two sisters: Mary James and Twannah Byington, both of Tishamingo, OK. He is also survived by eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister, Diane Hester.
