avid Campbell was born on August 20th, 1932 to the late parents John Henry Campbell and Alma Glover Campbell in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. His parents, his brother, Fred “Shug†Campbell, and his life partner of over 25 years, Frances Ann Joyner May, predeceased him. He is survived by his eight brothers and sisters; Pearl Coffer, Christine Campbell, Barbara Ruffens, Emily Campbell, John Campbell, Fred Campbell (Deceased), Jeanette Campbell, Leonard Campbell and Phillip Campbell, his son, Bill May, and 3 grand-children; Kalyn, Sydney and David, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Campbell was honorably served his country within the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. David retired after over 30 years of service with the D.C. Government, Fleet Management division. He was captain of the Washington, D.C. Stonewall Athletic Club and remained an avid football fan until his passing. David's life celebration will be held on Friday, October 2 from 10:00AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 1357 East Capitol St. S.E. Washington, D.C. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
