David Edwards - Obituary

avid Alfred Edwards was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on November 19, 1933, to the late Mr.& Mrs. Alfred Edwards Sr. He matriculated through the Bridgeport, Ct. school system for elementary and high school. He attended Oakwood College, in Huntsville, AL., Andrews University, in Berrien Springs, MI, and Fairfield University in Fairfield Ct. During his lifetime he acquired 5 Master's Degrees. He worked as a supervisor in the Social Work Dept. for the state of Ct. for most of his life. He was also a volunteer fireman. He loved helping people. He was very active in the Seventh-day Adventist church. He started the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Norwalk, Ct. He held church offices such as elder, Sabbath School teacher, and personal ministries leader, just to name a few. He was never too tired or too busy to show his compassion for others in their time of need. David loved the Lord with all his heart. We can truly say the Christian life he lived that David fought a good fight, he finished his course, and kept the faith. Now, he awaits the call of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. David is preceded in death by his father Alfred Edwards Sr., his mother, Eureka Edwards, his brother, Maitlan Howard, his sister Naomi Edwards, and his brother, Eric Edwards. David leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Teresita, his daughter, Ramona, his son, David Jr., his son, Daryl, his sisters, Gwendolyn, Merlin, and his brothers, Clifton, Alfred, Warren, Philip, his grandchildren, a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. The family of the late David Alfred Edwards wishes to express sincere gratitude and appreciation for your acts of kindness and your prayers during our time of bereavement. May God Bless you and keep you forever in His care. Relatives and friends are invited to Mr. Edward's Life Celebration on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD from 5pm until time of service at 7 pm.. Interment private.
