David L. Holland - Obituary

D

avid Lawrence Holland III, better known as "Savage" or "Dave", earned his wings to heaven on Thursday April 3, 2025 at the age of 17. Born on January 29, 2008 in Annapolis, MD, as the second born child to James Dunbar and Nikki Bragg, David was given the name of his grandfather and late father, David Holland Jr., also known as "Boo". Lil David was proud to carry the third generation of his family's name "Holland", but was affectionately called "Savage" by all that knew him. He attended Baltimore and Anne Arundel County Public Schools. He admired his late father and followed in his footsteps before joining him at heaven’s gates. He became extremely good with his hands after working alongside with his dad, James Dunbar, doing tree work at the age of 4. David wanted to be an architect or own his own business. He enjoyed being around family and friends, and loved to laugh. He was known to be shy at first, but once he opened up he would make everyone around him cut-up with laughter and jokes. David brought light to any room he entered. He loved riding bikes from day one. It didn't matter if they were bicycles or motorbikes, David was on them, and if he wasn't on them he was working on them. David loved playing video games and watching YouTube. He also enjoyed listening to his favorite music, going fishing, doing rideouts, and going to car meetups. He will be remembered as an amazing son, a great friend, a beloved cousin, an easy-going nephew, a cherished grandson, and last but not least, the best brother any sibling could ask for. He was a grateful and giving person with an amazing heart and old soul. David was preceded in death by his father, David Holland, Jr. of Annapolis, MD and grandmother, Margaret “Peggy” Uhl of Manhattan Beach. Left to cherish David's memory are his parents, James Dunbar of Severna Park and Nikki Bragg of Annapolis, MD; his grandparents, David Holland Sr. of Annapolis, MD, Robert "Rob" Dunbar of PA, Patricia "Pat" Rawlings of Annapolis, MD, and Carolyn Colbert of Annapolis, MD; his brothers, Elijah "Eli" Dunbar and Zyan Holland of Annapolis MD; his sisters, Sierra "Cee" "Sissy" Dunbar and Diamond Holland of Annapolis, MD; his godmother, Debbie Paddy of Hardwood MD; and his beloved dog Dior and cat Honey. He is also survived by dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many lifelong friends, including his best friend Darrien Grander of Glen Burnie, MD. David also had about a thousand people who still wish they had him in their corner. He has left an incredible mark on our hearts and souls, and his memory will continue to inspire us to live life to the fullest, filled with faith, compassion, and joy. Family and friends are invited to David's funeral service on Thursday, 24, 202,5, at 11 am at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomon's Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Interment will follow at noon at Bestgate Memorial Park in Annapolis, next to his father. The family appreciates those who wish to express sympathy by sending flowers or cards, or by making a memorial contribution in David's name to help with funeral expenses to Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory (call 410-956-4488 for details). They are deeply grateful and appreciative of everyone's generosity, thoughtfulness, and prayers. Everyone's support helps to ease the burden of this unexpected loss.
