David Shade - Obituary

avid Shade On September 9, 2024 of Lothian Maryland. He was 94 years old. David was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1930. At age eleven he and his family moved to Maryland. He was a graduate of McKinley Tech High School, class of 1949. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. His life's work was that of a printer and he retired in 1994 after forty five years. In his younger years he was an avid tennis player, a sport he greatly enjoyed. One of his favorite endeavors was hiking “Old Rag Mountain” in Virginia and he did it often. Other pastimes included stein collecting, reading and traveling. He was a true fan of the Washington Redskins and the Washington Nationals. He was a wonderful, kind and gentle man, generous and warm-hearted, a ready smile and an easy laugh. His ability to develop and maintain friendships was legendary. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Dale; sons William (Deborah) and Robert (Mimi); step-son Wayne (Patty) Dustin; grandchildren Anthony Shade, Savanah Quintanilla (Douglas) and Miranda Shade; Matthew (Lauren) and Tyler (Emily) Dustin; great-grandchildren Ethan and Aria Quintanilla, Lily, Noah and Makenzie Dustin.
