avid Dean Walden, 70, a 10-year resident of Lothian, MD and previously of Bernardsville, NJ died at his home on August 30, 2010 of lung cancer after a 1 year illness.
Born September 27, 1939 in Tuttle, OK, to the late Ora and Dennis Walden, he graduated from Oklahoma University with a BA and MA degree. David was employed as an auditor and comptroller of various organizations, including Price Waterhouse, Nabisco, RJR Nabisco and Interpublic Group. He was a member of the National Presbyterian Church, Stanford Yacht Club, Roxciticus Country Club, Old South Country Club, Financial Executives Institute and the American Institute of CPA’s. His hobbies included golf, quail hunting and wine.
David was the beloved husband of Susan L. Walden, whom he married in 1971; father of Lisa Walden of Bethesda, MD; brother of LaNell Lanning of Waco, TX and Anita Walden of San Rafael, CA.
Friends are invited to David’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, September 1 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 2 at 1pm at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Boulevard, Annapolis, MD 21401. Interment private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Auxiliary of Anne Arundel Medical Center, 2001 Medical Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
