David Alphonso Williams of Ft. Washington, Maryland departed this life on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Born in Littleton, NC to the late David Howard and Mary Francis Price Williams on November 28, 1935. He was united in marriage to Jean Williams whose union produced three daughters.
David was educated in the Public Schools system of Littleton, NC and after graduating, enlisted in the United States Army where he served several years and received an honorable discharge.
In his later years, he retired from the United States Postal Service, and was an active member of the American Legion and The Columbia Lodge #85 in Washington, DC. He also filled his leisure time with the things he loved such as, watching the Redskins, fishing, going to casinos, the racetrack, playing BINGO, watching old Western movies, listening to oldies music, and relaxing at home.
David is survived by three daughters: Marlene Scott (David), Karen Moore (Mark) and Sandra Mack (Kevin), eight grandchildren: Erique Williams, Shauna Cotton, Kevin Mack, Jr., Kendra Mack, .Kendall Mack, Talibe Moore, Tarik Todd and Kristina Mack, eleven great-grandchildren, five sisters: Geraldine Davis, Rosetta McAllister, Valeski Smith, Mary Carter, Evelyn Jones, and the late Gloria Jones,(Clarence) and Donald Williams. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd, Oxon Hill MD, from 11am until time of services at 12 noon. Inurnment at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington Virginia. Please sign the on line guess book.
