awn Marie Zoolakis, “Ya–Ya”, 48, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her home. She was born on July 17, 1966 in Silver Spring, MD., and worked as a Histology Technician at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. Dawn enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved being at the beach. Dawn is survived by her husband, David John Zoolakis, her three daughters; Tiffany Boggs of Inwood, WV, Jessica Ringle of Crownsville, MD, Lauren Battista of Chattanooga, TN, three step-daughters; Theresa Titcomb of Annapolis, MD, Kara Zoolakis of Baltimore, MD, and Andrea Tyrrel of Annapolis, MD, her mother, Donna Tickel, her father Charles Tickel and his wife Roberta, her siblings; Paul Tickel and Deanna Lare, both of Annapolis, MD and Debra Tickel of Dearing, NH. Also survived by her eight grandchildren; Deanna, Donoven, Hailey, Adalynn, Kyleigh, Laila, Joseph, Jr. and Ailyn. Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD., where a funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 10, 2015. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 South Market Street, Frederick, MD 21705.
