ean (Ike) Armstrong, a 20-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Lanham, MD, died on October 5, 2016, at the age of 88 years old. Ike had gone back to his childhood home in Idaho and while viewing the beauty of Yellowstone Park one last time, quickly passed on to join his beloved wife, Nobuko (Nobi).
Born on August 23, 1928, to the late Julia and Price Armstrong in Pocatello, ID, Ike proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in 1966. He became head of the parasitology lab at the Washington Hospital Center and completed his career there as the director of the laboratory. Ike was an avid sports fan, reader, and golfer. When younger, he enjoyed playing basketball and softball, as well as bowling, for many years. Ike also enjoyed jazz and big band music.
He is survived by his son, Paul; daughter-in-law, Marga; and grandchildren, Emily and Eric.
