Deborah Ann Small - Obituary

eborah Miles Small, 74, passed away suddenly on March 12, 2019 with her family by her side. A graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College she was born and raised in Upstate New York. She was employed as a medical assistant prior to her marriage to James Small. The family had two sons, Thomas Small and David Small, and moved to Maryland in 1983. Deborah’s passion was her family which now includes Tom’s wife Emma Berry and Dave’s wife, Kelley Small. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, her sons and daughters-in-law and six grandchildren Ally, Kate, Cooper, Teagan, Bella, and Emma. Survivors also include her brother, Dr. William R. Miles, and his wife, Janice Miles, of Montpelier, Vermont and nieces Erika Edwards and Melissa Miles, also of Vermont. Her passions were her family, bridge, and sports including the Ravens and Orioles with fond memories of taking her sons to their games. Please make any remembrances in her name to the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute supporting the research of Dr. Neil Bressler who successfully treated her for many years for macular degeneration.
