Dennis R. Nichols - Obituary

ennis R. "Denny" Nichols, 75, of Stevensville, MD passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born in Annapolis, MD on July 26, 1947 to the late Harry and Dorothy Nichols, Denny lived in Annapolis for most of his life before moving to Stevensville. He retired from the US Naval Academy in 1997, where he began his career as an automobile mechanic and in 1975 moved to the fire and emergency services department as a firefighter. Denny enjoyed being on the water whether it be fishing, crabbing or just cruising the waterways. He will be missed by many. In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his siblings, Donnie Nichols and Barbara Nichols Klein. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Daywalt Nichols; his son, Denny Nichols, Jr.; his brothers, Jimmy, Dale and Steve Nichols and 4 granddaughters. Friends are invited to celebrate Denny's life on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where his funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 21 at 11 am.
