ewayne Tyrone Gilbert, born March 4, 1962, in Washington, DC to Lorraine G. Minor and Lynn W. Gilbert. Attended District of Columbia and Prince George’s County Public Schools. He also attended Lincoln Technical Institute for auto mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars. Ty as we all affectionately called him had 4 great loves. His family and friends, cars, good music, and food! He loved to go to the racetrack or watch racing and car shows. He thoroughly enjoyed music. Listening to music was one of his past times. He could recite the lyrics to almost any song. He loved trying new foods, going out to new restaurants and cooking. He was in love with his nieces and nephews and watched over and took care of them. Their friends even called him Uncle Ty. He enjoyed family gatherings and family events. He was always present. He never forgot anyone’s birthday. He would always give a nice birthday card complete with a gift card inside. You always knew it was from him Uncle Ty because he had a unique name of spelling everyone’s names. He was a good caregiver, had a big heart and was very giving. Tyrone is preceded in death by his Mother Lorraine G. Minor; Brother Eric Jerome Gilbert; grandmother’s Lucille Brown and Eliza Gilbert; Nephew Antwon C. Edwards. He is survived by Aunts Floretta Carpenter and Mabel Gilbert-Wells, Uncles David Gilbert (Laurie), Enoch Gilbert (Emmogen), Larry Gilbert (Mary), and Nathaniel J. Brown. Brother Donald N.
