Diane Frye - Obituary

iane M. Frye, 71, a resident of Annapolis since 1985 died on April 27, 2009 of Pancreatic Cancer at her home. She is survived by her husband, Kermit L. Frye, her high school sweetheart, whom she married in 1958; mother of Donald K. Frye of Eldersburg, MD, Donna Lynn Kanahele of Orange County, CA; sister of Richard R. Meier of Tacoma, Washington; she is also survived by 5 grandchildren. Born October 12, 1937 in Chillicothe, OH, to the late Raymond W. Meier and Birdie Beardsley Meier of Wisconsin and Lake Havasu City, AZ. She attended the University of Maryland after graduating from Bladensburg High School in 1955; she attended schools in Ohio, Minnesota, Indiana and Maryland. Mrs. Frye retired in 1996 as Chief Deputy Clerk, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit of Washington, D.C. and also had worked throughout her career at the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Board of Parole. Over the years she and her best friend, her husband, enjoyed life to the fullest, travelling, golfing, boating, scuba diving, skiing and especially spending time with their family. Family and friends are invited to Diane's Memorial Service on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 2:00pm at Riva Trace Baptist Church, 475 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Diane's name to a charity of one's choice. Arrangement by the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, Edgewater, MD.
