Diane Amelia Lawson - Obituary

iane Amelia Lawson, who defied all medical experts and lived to age 77, passed away on September 16, 2026 at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. Born on June 2, 1949 in Washington, DC to the late Alfred and Helen Lawson, Diane attended Benedictine School in Ridgely, MD. Upon graduation from Benedictine, she joined The Arc Montgomery County working in multiple support positions. Throughout her life the Arc was Diane’s second family, providing love, friendships and learning. Diane enjoyed singing, dancing, latch hook, working, traveling, bowling and food. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Lawson and her niece, Michelle Snow. She is survived by her sister, Sharyn (Charles) Pensmith of Maryland; her brother, Robert (Melanie) Lawson of Colorado; her nephew, Max Lawson; her great-niece, Dakota Snow, and Dakota’s son Camden.
