Diane Ruth MacQuilliam - Obituary

iane Ruth MacQuilliam, "Diddy," 77, and resident of Gambrills and previously of Glenn Dale, MD, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018, at the Rebecca Fortney Hospice Center in Pasadena. Diddy was born on July 20, 1941, in Washington, D.C. to the late Harvey and Charlotte Brown. She loved her Ocean City house and spending time at the beach. Her love of pets, especially cats, was evident throughout her whole life. She had many cats that brought her great joy. Her hobbies included flower arranging and later in life, adult coloring books. But her greatest joy was her family. She was happiest spending time with her sons, her nieces, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Diane was survived by her three sons; Dan MacQuilliam of Crownsville, Chris MacQuilliam of Annapolis and Gregory Karmel of Eldon Missouri, brother, Roger Brown of Middle Grove, NY and her grandchildren; Wesley, Matthew, Kevin and Kyle MacQuilliam, Paxton Karmel and Zoey Fienie. Also survived by six great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering to celebrate Diane's life on Friday, August 17, 2018, from 7 pm to 9 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Memorial contributions may be made to either cause for Paws cares, 12100 Rustic Hull Drive, Bowie, MD 20715 or to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
