iane C. Renzi, 50, a 15-year resident of Lothian and previously of Silver Spring died on July 19, 2011 in Lothian from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born on April 14, 1961 in Long Island, NY; she was raised in Milford, DE. Diane graduated from Salisbury State College and worked as an administrator with the federal reserve from 1988-2004. Her memberships included of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in West River. She enjoyed the beach, playing volleyball, cooking, makeup and photography. Diane will be remembered as a beautiful, giving, artistic and creative person.
She was predeceased by her father, Karl Thomas; her grandparents, Josef and Clara Hermann and Katarina and Josef Thomas.
Diane is survived by her husband, Rico Renzi; two sons, Nicolas and Michael Renzi, both of Lothian; one stepson, Rico Renzi, Jr. of Mecklenburg, NC; one granddaughter, Izzy Renzi of Mecklenburg; her mother, Renate Thomas; one brother, Karl Thomas of Lewes, DE; two sisters, Sylvia Smith of Panama City Beach, FL and Cindy Thomas of Milford, DE; six nieces, Madeline Thomas, Michaela Smith, Megan, Sarah, Colleen and Anna Renzi; four nephews, Race Smith, Karl Thomas, Jack Renzi and Michael Gee.
Friends are invited to Diane’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 26 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 101 Owensville Road, West River, MD. Interment private.
