ildred Dianne Morris, 70, a 42 year resident of Saunders Point in Mayo, Maryland passed away on July 5, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Loving wife of 51 years to William (Bill) Morris, beloved mother of Angela Morris-Banger, devoted mother-in-law of Randy Banger, Sr., doting grandmother of Randy Banger, Jr. (Alexandra) and Amy Banger, adored great-grandmother of Molly Banger and Whitney McCall. She is survived by her sisters; Betty Jo Dent (Joe), Alice MacNamara, Frances Berry (Joe) and Grayce Madison. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom she loved very much. Preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Clifton and Mary Fornette Madison as well as her brother, Arthur Clifton Madison, Jr., her sister, Elizabeth Ann (Dolly) Bradshaw, her sister-in-law, Patricia Madison, her father-in-law, William Morris, Jr. and her mother-in-law, Madeline Morris. Over the years, she cherished her relationships with her friends, neighbors and co-workers. Dianne was a loving, caring and giving woman. A devout Lutheran, she maintained a strong faith all of her life. Her 41 year relationship with St. Paul Lutheran Church, Annapolis, Maryland, was steadfast and she gave freely of her time and resources. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Altar Guild as well as a volunteer for vacation bible school and the church’s Mission of Orphan Grain Train, which collects, sorts and ships desperately needed materials to people in crises around the world. She obtained great satisfaction working with other church members on the Orphan Grain Train project. Dianne also volunteered at the South County Senior Center in Edgewater, Maryland and she often spoke of the great group of people she worked with. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association for many years. She generously contributed to many charities and organizations. After working in banking for over 20 years, she retired from The Columbia Bank, Greenbelt, Maryland in 2003. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading and family gatherings. One of her most enjoyable pastimes was sitting on her back porch watching the many species of birds she attracted to her yard. After going through the certification process, her hard work paid off when her residence was certified by the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the care and attention provided by the Oncology Unit staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis Oncology Center, Dr. Glen Gibson and Hospice of the Chesapeake. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 31 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis, MD 21401 on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy., Annapolis, MD 21401.
