olores Dame Burcham, 92, of Edgewater, Maryland, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the most warm and loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Wife and was known for her quick wit and amazing sense of humor. Born on April 8, 1933, in Plattsburgh, New York to the late Della D. and Norman Dame, Sr., Dolores was a proud graduate of St. John's Academy in Plattsburgh. She went on to graduate from SUNY Plattsburgh, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to education, faith, and service. Dolores served her community through multiple roles during her accomplished life. She was a dedicated middle school educator, a realtor, and Vice President of Dame Outdoor Advertising. A devout Catholic, Dolores lived her faith daily and was deeply involved in parish life. Politically active and civically engaged, Dolores worked tirelessly on behalf of her late husband, John B. Burcham Jr., and later stepped into the political arena herself as a candidate for Prince George's County School Board. Her advocacy for education and public service touched many lives. Dolores is survived by her loving daughters, Jody (Dave) Kilmer, Kelley Burcham, Jan (Steve) Wisooker and Connie (Rick) Almony; her grandchildren, Samantha (David) Thomas, Tyler Almony, Nikki Kilmer and Jordan Almony; her great-grandchildren, Adriana Kane, Pearce, Briana and Colton Thomas and her siblings, Norman J. (Nita) Dame, Jr. and Nancy Dame Finn. In addition to her parents and her husband, Dolores was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, James Finn. Friends are invited to celebrate Dolores’ life on Sunday, July 27 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, July 28 at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD.
