omenica Pasquina Tripodi, 45 years of age of Annapolis, MD passed away on May 6, 2022 after a nearly 3-year heroic battle with cancer. Her larger-than-life personality and generous heart will be forever missed by all those who knew and loved her. Domenica is survived by her most cherished 3-year-old son, Roman Rocco Preston and by her husband, Torri Preston. She was preceded in death by her premature infant daughter, Angelina, who was born and died on March 22, 2015. Domenica obtained her FCC License at the age of 18 and began radio broadcasting by calling on-air Navy Basketball games at radio station WNAV-AM in Annapolis. Her dream of becoming a national television Sportscaster took a back-seat when she entered her lengthy 26-year adventure in the restaurant industry. Domenica began her career in the restaurant industry at the very young age of 12, mentoring and working under Mary and Gino Giolitti at their former fine dining restaurant, La Piccola Roma on Main Street in downtown Annapolis. She also managed at Giolitti Fine Italian Deli & Market for several years. Domenica eventually started and owned several restaurants in the Annapolis area including Café Mezzanote, La Mona Lisa and Domenica’s Restaurant & Jazz Blues Lounge. Upon leaving the restaurant industry, Domenica obtained her Barber License where she enjoyed apprenticing and cutting hair at Savvi Hair Studio and Barbershop in Annapolis. Domenica then entered the Mortgage industry where she spent the last 10+ years, most recently as Vice President of Employee Development & Customer Relations at Strong Home Mortgage where she was the most fulfilled and blessed to be working with such an amazing work family. In addition to many professional accomplishments achieved, she truly enjoyed and took great pride in mentoring fellow hard-working peers. Domenica was most passionate about her beautiful baby boy, Roman, who is the hero, inspiration and most important accomplishment of her entire life. She loved spending time with family and friends, most especially entertaining for them through her love of cooking and baking. Viewings will be held on Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.
