onald S. Dabbs, Sr., 85, a resident of Annapolis, MD, was called home on Saturday, December 1, 2018. He was born on February 23, 1933, in Washington, DC, to the late Thomas and Julia (Bowman) Dabbs. Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie E. Dabbs; whom he shared 63 years of marriage, and his sister, Margaret Dabbs Pippin, and his brother, Thomas L. Dabbs, Jr., a Purple Heart recipient. Donald was a graduate of McKinley Technical High School in Washington, DC. As a resident of Heritage Harbor, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, biking, and kayaking. Don was an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels for many years. Don’s career culminated to upper management within the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, VA. Don’s wife and children were his pride and joy.
Don is survived by his two sons, Donald S. (Dori) Dabbs, Jr., of Salisbury, NC; Joseph (Monica) of Emmitsburg, MD; two daughters, Catherine (Tom) Williams of Crofton, MD, Mary (John) Hodgson, of Edgewater, MD; eight grandchildren, Thomas Dabbs, Marie Capito, Katelyn Breeden, Michael Quinn, Joseph Dabbs, John Dabbs, Thomas Williams, and Amelia Hodgson and three great-grandchildren, Peyton and Jax Breeden, and Margot Capito.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 am on Friday, December 7, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD. Family will receive guests beginning at 8:30 AM. Private family interment will be held at St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, West Street, Annapolis MD, Saturday, December 8. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul of St. Mary’s, 109 Duke of Gloucester St, Annapolis, MD 21401
