Donald Paul Kirsch - Obituary

onald Paul Kirsch, 82, a resident of Venice, FL passed away on August 16, 2018. Donald was born in Chicago, IL to the late, John and Monica Kirsch on October 23, 1935. After high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy where he participated in the installation of the Transatlantic Cable. Donald was a proud member of both the American Legion and the VFW. He was an outstanding dancer who, for 37 years, enjoyed all types of dancing with his loving companion, Mary F. Ayers. Don and Mary split their time between Bethany Beach, De, Loch Haven, Md and Venice, Fl. Don was a happy person and proud of the time he spent as a Fuller Brush Man. He exercised his entrepreneurial spirit in the Maryland and Washington DC area in the field of Home Improvement. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a son, Brian Kirsch, a daughter, Patricia Dewald, and a brother, John. He is survived by his companion of 37 years, Mary Ayers; three children, Donald "Skip" Kirsch Jr., Kim Smith and Jackie Gillespie; and nine grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Donald's life on Saturday, August 25 from 11 until his service begins at 12 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd, Edgewater, MD.
