onald White LeCrone, 83, died September 25, 2020 at his home in Fort Washington, Maryland. A visitation will be held this Saturday, October 3, 2020, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD. Mr. LeCrone is survived by his wife, Carolyn Kay (Panero), a daughter, Deborah (Kim) and her husband Doug Knox, a son, David and his wife Lynda, two granddaughters, Nicole LeCrone (Brian Ward), Samantha LeCrone, and one great-granddaughter, Presley Ward. Mr. LeCrone was born on December 19th, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Pauline (White) and Donald LeCrone. He earned his Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. This is where he met his wife Carolyn. Following their marriage on June 24, 1962, they relocated to Maryland where Mr. LeCrone worked for the Bureau of Census for 10 years before joining the United States (U.S.) Patent and Trademark Office in 1972. Mr. LeCrone retired in 1992 as the Deputy Director for Systems Development and Maintenance, where he oversaw automation development activities for issuing U.S. patents and trademarks. Mr. LeCrone was a longtime member (1967) of Tantallon Country Club and played with the Senior Men’s Golf Association (SMGA). He was also a member of the unofficial golf group known as the “Wet Shoes”. Mr. LeCrone loved the Washington Redskins, and as every fan he held out hope that this would be their year. He loved reading, playing cards and doing sudoku puzzles. Tantallon neighbors know him best from seeing him enjoying a glass of wine with his wife in the evenings by their pond. Relatives and friends are invited to Donald's Life Celebration at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD 20745 on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 3 to 6 p.m. Interment private.
