Donna Kauffman - Obituary

onna Lee Kauffman, 66, a 35-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Seat Pleasant, MD, died on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Donna was born on December 4, 1947 in Washington, D.C. to the late Edward and Margaret Grimley and was a 1965 graduate of Central Senior High School. She was a homemaker as well as the owner of Donna K. Designs, a party planning company. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, a member of American Legion Post 226 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Knights of Pythias, Pythias Sisters. Her interests included cooking, party planning and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by one brother; Whitey D. Grimley and her daughter in law, Jacqueline Kauffman. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, David M. Kauffman of Edgewater, two sons; David M. Kauffman, Jr., of Annapolis and Edward and his wife Shauna Kauffman of Crofton, one brother; Edward Grimley and three sisters; Linda Herrera, Peggy Ahmay and Kay Grimley and three grandchildren; Kristopher, Matthew and Kevin. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 15, from 6 to 8pm and on Thursday, January 16 from 10am until her funeral service will begin at 11am at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery will be private.
