oris Sasse Halter Doris Sasse Halter, “Nan”, a 35-year resident of Annapolis, previously of Silver Spring and Philadelphia, passed away of natural causes on April 6, 2014 at Genesis Spa Creek Center. She was 93. Born July 1, 1920 in Germantown, PA to the late Herman and Violet Sasse, she was a 1938 graduate of Germantown High School. Nan was a homemaker and worked as a clerk at Leeds & Northrup in Philadelphia. She also loved to volunteer her time at the Clothes Box at Anne Arundel Medical Center, schools and libraries in the Montgomery County School System as well as an election poll volunteer in Montgomery County. Her interests included; sewing, walking, gardening, reading and crafts. She also enjoyed live theatre, movies, travelling and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. William Halter in 2000 and her son Kenneth R. Halter in 2005. She is survived by her daughter Linda H. Webb of Annapolis, grandchildren; Kenneth R. Halter, Jr., Timothy D. Halter, William T. and Megan L. Webb and Jennifer T. Purgason. Family will receive friends at 860 Clubhouse Village View on Saturday, April 26 from 3-5pm.
