Doris Maxfield - Obituary

oris Ellen Maxfield, cherished wife of Eugene Maxfield, sister to her one surviving sibling, Ron and loving mother of Jim and Dave Maxfield; passed away peacefully at her home on February 8, 2021 at the age of 88. Doris loved her sons, her daughter-in-laws, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. An energetic, active and deeply religious woman Doris enjoyed church, trips with her husband and family, reading, and exercise. She had a strong love of children and spent a great deal of time over the years babysitting for neighborhood parents. Doris sacrificed to help her family through difficult times; she helped friends and family in need and through her many years of charitable contributions she touched the lives of untold numbers of people. She brought joy to all who knew her. The love of her life was her wonderful, loving husband of 68 years who took care of her and stayed by her side until she passed away to continue to serve our Lord Jesus Christ. A funeral service will be held at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, February 17 at 12 noon. Interment will be private.
