Doris Townsend - Obituary

oris M. Townsend, 78, a resident of Edgewater, MD for over 37 years died on January 6, 2009 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center from complications from pneumonia. Born, May 25, 1930 in Salisbury, MD, she was a homemaker most of her life. She attended Mayo United Methodist Church. Mrs. Townsend's hobbies included crocheting, yard sales, shopping and her cats. She was the beloved wife of the late William E. Townsend, whom she married on July 19, 1950 and who died on February 24, 2002; mother of Gail E. Hollis of North Beach, MD and the late Paul E. Townsend; sister of Shirley Elliott of Salisbury, MD and the late Harry Records; also survived by 4 grandchildren. Friends are invited to Doris' Life Celebration on Friday, January 9, 2008 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD from 10 A.M. until time of service at 11 A.M. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mayo United Methodist Church, 1005 Old Turkey Point Road, Edgewater, MD 21037.
